(20 July 2020) – Laiza Garcia Castillo has joined the Development Partner Institute (DPI Mining) as Senior Program Manager. Laiza has over 14 years of experience with specialisations in project design, management, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable development. Her passion is to make a difference within the social sector by developing Corporate Social Innovation and Sustainability strategies to support responsible business practice.
With 11+ years’ experience as a consultant as part of Accenture Commercial Consulting and Accenture Development Partnerships practice; she has focused on international development sector applying private sector approaches across governments, non for profit, and corporate to deliver sustainable outcomes for social impact.
She has worked in Australia, Japan, South Africa, Mozambique, Brazil, Mexico and Malaysia. Laiza led the Mexican implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) based on an innovative Tracking Platform for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Laiza is a strong advocate of the SDGs and believes the pathway to meet the 2030 agenda is by igniting the power of multi-sectoral partnerships to foster shared value.
Her most recent engagement was the delivery of a feasibility study project to control Malaria in Papua New Guinea, applying a multi-sectoral partnerships approach.
